Calvin and Saint Mary's emerged from semifinal action Wednesday in the 2018 MIAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament, with the two teams slated to face off Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at Calvin for an automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
In a contest that was halted by weather delay for over one hour, Calvin's 5-0 run to start the second half helped fuel the top seed to their 14-8 win over Hope. Amanda Davio led all scorers with four goals, while Emma Verrett had team bests of two assists and seven draw controls.
Saint Mary's avenged their regular season loss to Albion by outscoring the host Britons 8-3 over a span of 22 minutes to end the first half and start the second. Erin Doyle paced the attack for the Belles with four goals and four assists; Saint Mary's goalkeeper Emily Kraker made 14 saves in the contest.
