2015 All-MIAA Women’s Lacrosse Team Announced; Albion's Novak, Della Pia Chosen Most Valuable Players 

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced its 2015 All-MIAA women’s lacrosse team.

Albion attacker Mackenzie Novak, who scored 38 goals and recorded 50 points in MIAA play to rank second in the conference in both categories, has been named the conference’s Most Valuable Offensive Player. Albion goalkeeper Victoria Della Pia, who led the MIAA in goals against average at 7.12 goals per game and save percentage at 56.8 percent against conference opponents, has been named Most Valuable Defensive Player.

Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Albion midfielder Ashley Glenn, a senior from New Hudson (South Lyon HS), scored seven goals, including the tying and winning goals, as Albion edged Calvin 11-10 to win its first MIAA tournament and advance to the NCAA Division III tournament. She also scooped up seven ground balls and caused three turnovers in the game. Glenn is being honored as Player of the Week for the third time this season and fifth time in her career.

Defensive Player of the Week
Albion midfielder Kadie Koolwick, a junior from Bloomfield (Bloomfield Hills Lahser HS), won 25 draw controls, scooped up nine ground balls and caused four turnovers for the Britons during the MIAA tournament. She won 14 draw controls, picked up six ground balls and assisted on the winning goal in Albion’s 11-10 win over Calvin in the championship game of the MIAA tournament. Koolwick is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season and third time in her career.
