Saint Mary's to Compete in Ninth NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship

The Saint Mary's golf team will participate in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the ninth time in program history.

The NCAA formally announced the 25 teams and six individuals that will participate in the 2019 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships on Monday. The championships will be conducted May 14-17 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Harris County-Houston Sports Commission will serve as hosts.

The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. Following 54 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day. In the team competition, the low four scores from each team for each day will count in the team’s total score.

Last season, Saint Mary's finished tied for 18th in the team's first appearance at the national tournament since 2012. The Belles' best finishes came in the 2010 and 2011 seasons, when Saint Mary's placed fourth overall.
