Four Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women’s basketball players were named to the All-Great Lakes Region by D3Hoops.com with Coach Brian Morehouse earns his second Region Coach of the Year.
Junior Kenedy Schoonveld of Hope, headlines this list earning first-team All-Region and Region Co-Player of the Year. Hope’s Junior Olivia Voskuil also earned first-team All-Region. Albion’s Rain Hinton was selected to the second-team, with Trine’s Tara Bieniewicz earned third-team honors.
Schoonveld is the MIAA 2020 women’s basketball most valuable player and a three-time first-team All-MIAA recipient. She led Hope in field goals made (116), field goal percentage (50.4), 3-points made (31), and points scored (299).
Voskuil is a two-time first-team All-MIAA selection and the MIAA Defensive Player of the Year. She led Hope in rebounds (128), blocks (58), and steals (54).
Hinton is a three-time All-MIAA award winner. She led the MIAA in points scored (458), points/game (17), and field goal percentage (52.6).
First-team All-MIAA, Bieniewicz, led the MIAA in three-point percentage (40.8). She was Trine’s scoring leader with 321 points and a field-goal percentage of 80.4.
Hope’s head coach, Brian Morehouse, earns his second All-Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year. At the helm, Morehouse led the Dutch to a perfect 29-0 record—the only basketball team in any division or gender to end the 2019-2020 campaign without a loss. Morehouse last earned this award in 2006.
