Alma lost, 72-66, to Saint Mary's on Saturday (Dec. 15). Freshman guard Stasha Warchock (Marquette, Mich. / Marquette) led the Scots with 16 points, tying her career-high. Alma is 6-5 overall and 1-3 in the MIAA. A 7-0 run by Saint Mary's down the stretch was the difference. Sophomore forward Madeline Barnauskas (Livonia, Mich. / Dearborn Divine Child) made some big shots down the stretch with the Scots down five midway through the fourth quarter. The senior's free throw with just over four minutes left tied it up at 58. She followed it with another layup to tie it at 60 with just over three minutes remaining. Alma was able to make three buckets in the final minute but the Belles' strong free throw shooting at the end kept the game out of reach.
