Kalamazoo 5, Hope 0

Top-seeded Kalamazoo defeated Hope Saturday afternoon, 5-0, to win the 2019 MIAA Men's Tennis Tournament Championship at Stowe Stadium. With the victory, the Hornets earn the MIAA's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships.

Alex Cadigan was the lone two-time winner for the Hornets, pairing with Tytus Metzler for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles before a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.

Both teams battled through doubles, and although the Hornets won early at No. 3 doubles, Hope did not go quietly in the remaining two doubles matches. Kalamazoo's Ian Yi and Daniel Henry were next to win, posting an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, before Allen Vinson and Zack Ray fended off Hope's Michael Kiley and Tim Roe at No. 2 doubles, 8-5.

In singles, Cadigan was the first to finish for the Hornets; Kalamazoo wrapped up the championship effort when Casey Johnson won at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
