ALBION, Mich. – Head Coach Jerry Block predicted Albion College would boast a dynamic offense, but he never thought it would be this proficient.
Evan Schweizer matched the school record with four goals and Jonathan DiNunzio tacked on the other two as the Britons rolled to a 6-2 opening day victory over Rochester College at Alumni Field.
"The team worked hard in the preseason and bought into the style of play," Block said. "We had 23 players in the game which allows us to keep up a fast pace which makes it difficult for the opponent.
"Evan's movement was fantastic," Block added.
Schweizer scored twice in each half. Ian Yetzke dished out assists on three of the strikes. DiNunzio tallied his first goal by pouncing on the rebound off a free kick by Bobby Budlong.
Albion travels to Delaware, Ohio, for weekend contests in the Fred Myers Tournament. The Britons will square off against Capital University Friday afternoon at 5.
