Hope

The Hope College men's golf team finished in seventh place overall at the Carthage (Wis.) Fall Classic on Saturday. After shooting a team score of 300 on Friday, good for a tie for fourth place, the Flying Dutchmen shot a 301 on Saturday, slipping them three slots in the final standings with 601. Defending national champion Illinois Wesleyan won the event with a 10-under 558 (281-277). Both senior Daniel Settecerri (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and freshman Jack Crawford (Carmel, Ind.) finished in a tie for 15th place with a total score of 147. Settecerri fired rounds of 76-71 while Crawford had scores of 72-75.


Kalamazoo

The Hornets played in the Battle at the Brook hosted by Ohio Wesleyan over the weekend and finished fourth as a team at 615. Parker Pickell shot a career-best 66 on Sunday to capture the individual victory. His score was the second-lowest in school history. Jackson Jones carded 74s on both days to finish second on the team. Kalamazoo opens MIAA play this week with a Jamboree against Hope before heading to The Grande G.C. for the Irish Hills Intercollegiate.


Olivet

The Comets did not compete between Monday, Sept. 2 and Sunday, Sept. 8.


Trine

Trine hosted the annual Ken Venturi Invitational in a multi-format event. Holes one through six were played as a scramble, holes seven through 12 were played in a better-ball format and holes 13 through 18 were an alternate-shot format. Trine's "Blue" team that had the best overall score of 197 strokes and placed second overall.
