The Trine University football team had its 2018 season come to an end Nov. 17 with a 31-7 loss to St. Norbert College in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Football Championship in a game hosted by Trine at Zollner Field.
The Thunder (10-1) were the first on the board when Cayleel Hill returned an interception 27 yards for the game's first touchdown early in the second quarter. It would be the only touchdown on the day for Trine, as St. Norbert (10-1) scored 31 consecutive points, with 14 in the second quarter and 17 in the third quarter.
The Knights held Trine to just 133 yards rushing, registered three sacks, recovered three Trine fumbles, and grabbed three interceptions on defense.
Trine's Lamar Carswell had 110 yards rushing for Trine, while Simeon Washington had a team-high 11 tackles.
