    Olivet Finishes Ninth at NCAA Tournament
    Tournament Results
    The MIAA champion Olivet Comets finished 9th at the NCAA Division III women's golf championships at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Methodist, N.C. won the championship at 1,215 strokes. Olivet's total was 1,371. The tournament medalist was Katie Dick of Methodist at 296 strokes. Scores of Olivet golfers were Kristy Latimer, 87-87-80-80--334; Lindsay Pipkin, 85-86-83-82--336; Trisha McKim 89-90-86-85--350, Megan Rimmel 101-89-81-90--361 and Stephanie Nicolai 91-96-92-106--385.

    To determine the 2006 league champion, teams participated in three one-day, 18-hole jamborees and a one-day, 18-hole tournament.

    Adrian did not place in the team standings for lack of players as a team entry.

    * Hope was unable to compete in the final tournament because of an automobile accident enroute to the competition. The MIAA Board of Control determined Hope would finish sixth in the seasonal standings. To determine Hope's final ranking, their +/- average stroke total was determined to the average stroke total for each jamboree (J-1-3). This found Hope's +/- strokes to the average to be +11. The tournament average (T1) stroke total was 380. Thus, Hope's final, though unplayed, tournament score would be 391, for a total of 1554, and a league average of 388.5.

    The league champion is determined on the basis of the fall competition. The MIAA's qualifier to the 2007 NCAA Championships will be determined by the spring competition.
