MIAA swimmers and divers will be idle from action until Saturday, Jan. 6

• Albion placed fourth against a strong field at Eastern Michigan's invitational Dec. 1-2. Among the Britons' top performers was Amanda Quitos (Fr., Grand Blanc, Mich.), who placed fourth in the 100 breast (1:09.94) while also swimming on the team's 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.

• Alma and Olivet both swam at the A3 Carthage Classic Nov. 30-Dec. 2. Olivet's Ana Paula Montes de Oca (Fr., Mexico City, Mexico) was the top scorer among all 10 teams, winning three events with Olivet-record times: the 1650 free, the 500 free, and 200 free. Alma was paced by Kate Lehman (Jr., Haslett, Mich.), who had top-10 finishes in the 400 IM (4:59.09) and 200 fly (2:23.85).

• Calvin and Kalamazoo participated in Calvin's Winter Invite Nov. 30-Dec. 2. The Knights saw strong performances from Abby Van Harn (Sr., Grand Rapids, Mich.), who finished first in the 50 free (23.41); her time was tied for third in the NCAAs. Kalamazoo's Madeline Woods (Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich.) turned in a regional qualifying score with her second-place finish on the 3-meter board (425.25).

• Hope finished third at the five-team Wheaton Invitational Dec. 1-2. Standout performers included Meg Peel (Fr., Spring Lake, Mich.) and her Hope-record time of 56.38 in the 100 back, which is also 10th in the nation through last week. Her time of 2:01.00 in the 200 back is sixth nationally and also a Hope record.
