Players of the Week
Position Player of the Week
Olivet catcher Austin Clark, a senior from Ossineke (Alpena HS),
went 6-for-18 at the plate for a .333 average and drove in six runs
in six MIAA games for the week. He drove in three runs in a 6-3
loss to Kalamazoo, then went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in his final
game for the Comets in a 9-1 rout of the Hornets. Clark, who is
being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his
career, tied an Olivet school record this season with 14
doubles.
Pitcher of the Week
Trine lefthander Jake Rightnowar, a junior from Oregon, Ohio
(Toledo Christian HS), threw a two-hitter and did not walk a batter
in pitching the Thunder to a 1-0 victory over MIAA champion Adrian.
He struck out four batters and also picked off a runner in pitching
his first collegiate shutout.
