    Players of the Week

    Position Player -- Olivet senior second baseman Mike Katlin of Howell (Howell HS) batted 10-for-15 with 11 RBIs as the Comets split a season-ending doubleheader with Hope. His hits included two doubles and a homerun. He also scored five runs.

    Pitcher -- Calvin freshman Keith Spoelstra of Oakland, N.J. (Eastern Christian HS) pitched a complete game five-hit shutout as the Knights blanked Kalamazoo 2-0 to clinch an outright MIAA championship. He struck out eight batters and walked two.
